About this item

During World War II (1939-1945) those on the homefront were constantly reminded to “make do.” Going without, or finding alternatives to many “necessities,” was one way in which people displayed their patriotism. A cloth bag such as this sugar sack, could be recycled as a dish towel, pillowcase, or an item of clothing.
