About this item

This is part of a traveling salesman’s kit for the Threadwell Tap & Die Company in Greenfield, Massachusetts. It was used to show potential customers the company’s tool line during World War II. Because of the complex and ever-evolving nature of these special cutting tools, it was essential for salespeople to maintain direct relationships with customers, so the company could better customize the tooling to their specific needs. Shown here are a slide rule, an information booklet, a company catalog, and a box of tools.
