About this item

Frank O. Wells was a machinist who founded a tap and die business in Greenfield, Massachusetts. In 1905, he had the inspiration for The Weldon, intended to be used for company suites and residential apartments. However, it soon became a hotel. Complete with wicker furniture and fern-filled porches, the all-concrete hotel soon became one of the most appealing hotels in the region.
