About this item

Lt. Henry Needham Flynt (1893-1970) was in his twenties when this photograph was taken in 1917 or 1918. He served as an artillery officer in World War I after his graduation from Williams College in Massachusetts. He and his wife, Helen Geier Flynt, founded the Heritage Foundation in Deerfield, Massachusetts, later named Historic Deerfield, Inc., in 1952. The Flynts made their home in Greenwich, Connecticut.
