About This Lesson

Summary and Objective

The purpose of this lesson is to explore the deception of the historical narrative about slavery in the North, and Boston in particular. The lesson will start literally at the front steps of the Boston Latin Academy, which sits on the corner of Townsend and Warren Streets. Students will explore the significance of the school, with a student body predominately of color, being located on this street memorializing patriot Dr. Joseph Warren.
