About this item

This pieced and appliqued quilt was created by either Fanny Hoyt Wilson, or her mother Betsy Hoyt Wilson, both of Deerfield, Massachusetts.  Piecing involves sewing geometric shapes together.  The stems, leaves, and buds on this quilt were stitched on (appliqued) after the quilt was pieced.
