About this item

During the Victorian era the use of silk, satin, and velvet became popular for pieced quilts, especially for “crazy quilts.”  Rather than being composed of geometric shapes, crazy quilts incorporated all sorts of shapes and fabrics and might include some embroidery as well. This example shows an innovative touch – a border made of netting.
