About this item

The John Russell Company of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, was founded in 1832,  by John and his brother, Francis. The first products came on the market in 1833. This knife’s handle is made of mother-of-pearl, which was cheaper than ivory. The Russell Company grew rapidly. In 1845 it employed 80 workers, and by 1850, there were 200.
