This photograph of the Arms Manufacturing Company in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, was taken in 1902, by an unknown photographer. In 1845, Dennis Arms founded the company which made pocket books (a form of wallet) from leather Arms had tanned himself. By the 20th century his company was producing pocket books, bill books, letter books and card cases. The original building burned in 1889, and the one shown here, with a later third and fourth-story tower addition, was immediately built on the site.
