About this item

Built in the 1760s by Jonas Locke (1727-1812), the gambrel-roofed house of the Fuller family of artists sits near the road about two miles south of the main street Deerfield, Massachusetts. Aaron Fuller (1786-1859), father of the artist, George, bought the property in 1820, and began to farm. It is surrounded by open fields that continue to be cultivated by the present owners, descendants of Aaron Fuller.
