About this item

English country dancers in their “gay colors” lead this procession of intrigued Elizabethan ladies and gentlemen. Reviving Elizabethan customs allowed pageant directors to import the best of 16th century English culture, romanticized as the pre-industrial golden age and a period uncluttered with modern machines.
