About this item

The Peabody collection of about 384 articles comprised a memorial to Laura A. Martin, a descendant of John Peabody, who was an early 18th century resident of Andover, Massachusetts. This photograph, taken in the first quarter of the 20th century, illustrates seating furniture, a tall clock, an open corner cupboard filled with ceramic dishes and pewter, and a woven rag carpet. The Peabody collection was on view at Memorial Hall Museum in Deerfield, Massachusetts, and the room view was taken by photographers, Mary and Frances Allen.
