About this item

Charlemont, Massachusetts, is on the Mohawk Trail, a scenic route that runs from Greenfield to North Adams.  The trail (Massachusetts State Route 2) has always been popular with tourists. Curtis Guild, Jr. was governor of Massachusetts from 1906 to 1909, and his visit to Charlemont was commemorated with this postcard (note the arrow above the carriage pointing at the governor.)
