These six medicine bottles came in a simple wooden case. They were probably used by the student nurses at the nurses’ training school at the Franklin County Public Hospital in Greenfield, Massachusetts, founded in 1895. The bottle outside the box that can be seen in the first image was used for peritrate, a nitrate drug used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina (chest pains), both symptoms of heart disease.
