The Massachusetts Anti-Slavery society released its annual report for 1850 in February, 1851. Included in this report was the money paid to the American Anti-Slavery Society agent Lucy Stone. In 1832, the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society was founded in Boston and the American Anti-Slavery Society was founded in 1833, by William Lloyd Garrison. The Gazette & Courier was the newspaper in Greenfield, Massachusetts, from July 20, 1841, until June 24, 1932. Before 1841, the newspaper’s name changed quite frequently, with “Gazette” a frequent part of the title.
