This World War II Army discharge card belonged to Sergeant Frank R. Dahowski, Jr., a first-generation Polish American from Montague, Massachusetts. He was honorably discharged on October 20, 1945, as a disabled veteran, unable to work when he returned home.

Frank and his wife Olga, moved to Deerfield, Massachusetts, after the war. They were members and supporters of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in South Deerfield. Frank was a volunteer fireman and enjoyed his hobby of restoring and selling antique cars. Olga (Ollie to her friends) worked at Greenfield Tap and Die during the war and later, at LaPierre’s Electrical Store in Greenfield, Massachusetts. They are buried in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in South Deerfield.
