This advertisement placed by Greenfield Tap and Die Corporation (GTD) ran in Aero Digest magazine during World War II (1939-1945.) GTD was the world’s largest maker of taps, dies, and gages. The Army/Navy awarded the company with several “E” flags and the employees received  “E” pins for exceptional performance in manufacturing. GTD ran three shifts, working around the clock seven days a week to produce these measuring devices that insured an accurate fit for all parts produced anywhere in the country.
