About this item

The Amherst (Massachusetts) Area Quaker Action Committee had planned a second crossing into Canada to present the Canadian Friends Service Committee with funds for the purchase of medical supplies for all victims of the Viet Nam War (1955-1975). A spokesperson for the Amherst committe explained that, “We are proceeding in the faith that the spirit of giving to all victims of war may directly help to relieve suffering and ultimately help to dissolve hostilities. Our action is based on the conviction that ‘no man is an enemy,’ that all men are brothers.”
