About this item

The program of the 1913 pageant, which was held on the grounds of the Allen sisters’ home in Deerfield, Massachusetts, provides information about the drama as well as local sponsors. The four performances (two matinees and two in the evening), contained limited dialogue since they were staged out of doors, but costumes, dance, and music (the music provided by the Greenfield Band) helped with the interpretation of the story line. Photographs of the pageant were taken by Frances and Mary Allen.
