About this item

Esther and Thomas Williams of Deerfield, Massachusetts, had seven living children. All are named in the will; the three daughters receiving the customary household furniture and wearing apparel plus the cash from debts owed the estate. The four sons receive modest cash stipends, probably already having received their share when Dr. Williams died 25 years earlier. The silver tankard, made by Boston silversmith, Jeremiah Dummer and given to Stephen West Williams, son of William, her grandson, can still be seen in Deerfield.
