Adding Images to Pages

This page describes how to add images to pages other than collection item pages. Please see this page for information about how to add images to Collection Item pages.

Insert an Image Block

In WordPress, an image is a block, analogous to a paragraph or a heading block. Insert an image block where you want the image to be in your page. It’s helpful to use the “Document Overview” feature to help stay aware of where the image block is relative to other blocks on the page.

Image Alignment

Hover over the image to pop up the image tools. You can select how the image aligns with other content blocks on the page:

  • None: puts the image on its own line, flush left with text above and below it.
  • Align Left: floats the image to the left, allowing the text to flow to the right of it.
  • Align Center: puts the image on its own line, centered on the page.
  • Align Right: floats the image to the right, allowing the text to flow to the left of it.
Captions

also from the image tool bar, add a caption to your image. No need to style it, the text will automatically be the correct font size and color. You can include credit info in the caption.

Image Size

Use the drag bars below and to the right of the image to size it to the appropriate size.

Image Choice

Please avoid using images grabbed from the internet such as clip art or stock images.
