This photograph of Janet Russell (1886-1981) and her father, William, was taken around 1899, in the studio of a professional photographer in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. Janet was then about 13 years old. The Russell family summered in Turners Falls and lived the rest of the year in New York City. There, William Russell was an executive for the International Paper Company. Janet would eventually live in Greenfield, Massachusetts, where she died in 1981.
