About this item

Edwin Moody and Betsy Holton were married in 1828, and raised their family here. Edwin died suddenly in 1841, leaving Betsy to raise their nine children, including four-year-old Dwight L. Moody, future evangelist and founder of Northfield School for Girls and Mount Hermon School, both in Northfield, Massachusetts. Betsy died in 1896, ten days shy of her ninety-second birthday.
