Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) was an evangelist minister and publisher from Northfield, Massachusetts. Begining in 1873, he began conducting religious revivals, first in England and Scotland, and then in Massachusetts. Between 1879 and 1881, he established two schools in Northfield- the Northfield Seminary for girls and the Mount Hermon School for boys, institutions that continue (although they have combined) to this day.
