This is a document for the sale of a parcel of land in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Eliezer Hawks (1655-1727), paid 14 pounds, and five shillings to John Stebbins (1647-1724) and his wife, Dorothy. The men signed their names, but Dorothy didn’t know how to write and left”her Marke” instead.
