On the 17th of May 1714, John Hawks (1643-1721) has discharged his debt to Col. John Pynchon. The promissory note is then canceled, as witnessed by three residents: John Holyoke, Nathanell Mun, and John Allen. The debt is paid to the executor of Colonel Pynchon’s estate, Eliezer Hawks.
