For much of the 20th century, milk was sold in glass bottles such as these. It could be purchased from a store or milkmen also delivered milk to area homes, leaving the bottles in containers on front doorsteps. This is how the family of John (Jan) and Antonina Sojka of Turners Falls, Massachusetts who had nine children, once received their milk. These bottles came from the Tenney Wayside Farms of Greenfield, Massachusetts. The farm still exists as Tenney Farm, in Antrim, New Hampshire.
