About this item

Bifacial blades were knives with a cutting edge on each side.  This blade dates to the Late Archaic Period (6,000-3,700 years ago), but it has a modern handle.  It was found within what was once the homeland of the Pocumtuck people. Northeast Woodland Native Americans used stone tools until they began trading with Western Europeans in the 1600s.
