Gershom Cathcart (1767-1852) and Polly Taylor (1775-1858) were married in 1794 in Goshen, Massachusetts. The information about the Taylors and their eight children – births, marriages, deaths – is contained on this one lithographed sheet of paper. Registers like this were available for purchase in the early 19th century and were then filled in with names and dates. Sometimes, as in this lithograph, the record was enhanced by watercolor painting.
