Atlatl or spear throwing weight

About this item

An atlatl was used by Northeast Woodlands peoples such as the Pocumtucks of what is now Deerfield, Massachusetts, to launch a spear.  A stone weight attached midway along the atlatl increased the velocity of a spear.
