Shown here are five-year-old Arthur Negus Fuller (1879-1945) and his mother, Agnes Higginson Fuller (1838-1924) of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Agnes cut her son’s long baby hair after this photograph was taken. He grew up to be an artist, with a studio in Deerfield and another that he shared with his brother, Henry, in Boston. He specialized in monotype (single) prints and etchings, including intaglios, where only the incised areas of a metal plate were inked.
