Elsa Eager, niece of Deerfield, Massachusetts’ famed pageant director Margaret MacLauren Eager, performed in 15 of her aunt’s pageants between 1910 and 1917. After 1912, at the age of 19, she became dance director for these pageants. Unlike other dance professionals, she worked exclusively on pageants and was never formally trained.
