About this item

Montague, Massachusetts, was settled in 1715, and incorporated in 1754. It consists of five villages: Montague Center, Montague City, Turners Falls, Millers Falls, and Lake Pleasant. In this image, Mount Toby, which is in neighboring Sunderland, is viewed across the Montague Plains. The plains are currently a state wildlife management area.
