This stereoscope picture of the Turners Fall dam and canal was taken just before the 1798 dam was entirely rebuilt in 1869. It was constructed at the site of a waterfall on the Connecticut River in Western Massachusetts and generated power for factories on both sides of the river in Greenfield and Turners Falls.
