About this item

This mukak (container) was found after the 1675 attack at Muddy Brook in what is now South Deerfield, Massachusetts.  The brook’s name was changed to “Bloody Brook” after Captain Thomas Lathrop and 76 men were ambushed while bringing wagonloads of grain to a safer location.
