About this item

The Alumni Association of the state Normal School (founded in 1839) in Westfield, Massachusetts, met every three years. This program is for the 21st such meeting. The April, 1907, gathering was large, drawing over 500 guests. The main speaker was George Cortelyou, the United States Secretary of the Treasury and a Westfield Normal School graduate. Note that the 1907 class song refers to “classrooms just filled full of knowledge, which all of us girls love so well.” Women had always been in the majority at the school but the 1907 class was entirely female.
