Charlotte Alice Baker (1833-1909) was a descendant of several of the early families of Deerfield, Massachusetts. She took a special interest in the children who were captured in the French and Indian attack of February 1704, and who remained in Canada. Miss Baker made several extended journeys to the Montreal area in the late 19th century to research the lives of those who did not return to Deerfield. This selection chronicles the experiences of Eunice Williams, b. 1696, the daughter of the Reverend John Williams, minister in Deerfield from 1686 until his death in 1729.
