About this item

Zebulon Graves charged Joel Munn (1745-1779) of Deerfield, Massachusetts, for a lost bridle and a borrowed shilling in addition to the rental charge for riding his horse to Boston. Munn was not unusual in not owning his own horse. They could be rented from livery stables or borrowed from a private owner, as Munn did.
