All inhabitants of Deerfield, Massachusetts,  “free and above the age of twenty one” are called upon to meet at the schoolhouse, elect a moderator, and proceed with the business at hand. Their task is to give their consent for the present House of Representatives and the council (providing the two bodies can agree) to enact a Constitution and a form of government for the “Safety, Peace, and Happiness of this State.”
