About this item

Millers Falls, Massachusetts, was established in1824, and was originally named Grout’s Corner after its first settler, Martin Grout (1790-1865). The completion of a railroad connection in 1866, and the waterpower of the falls of the Millers River made Grout’s Corner a perfect place to establish mills such as the Millers Falls Manufacturing Company which began producing hand tools in 1868.
