About this item

Pottery was one of the crafts produced in the early 20th century during the Arts and Crafts Movement. Chauncey Thomas (1877-1950) worked in Deerfield, Massachusetts, for a few brief years between 1909 and 1911, selling his work as a member of the Deerfield Industries. In 1916, he opened a pottery in Berkeley, California, which was eventually known as California Faience.
