About this item

Deerfield, Massachusetts, artist George Fuller (1822-1884) used this easel not for holding a painting in progress, but for exhibiting a finished piece. Display easels were used to show off works of art, either by the owner or the creator. They were often found in the parlors of Victorian homes, centrally located for all to see.
