About this item

Julian Nieckowski was born in 1915, in Deerfield, Massachusetts. After graduating from Deerfield Academy, he attended Harvard University and graduated from the Harvard Medical School in 1941. His medical career began with military service during World War II (1939-1945) when he held the rank of lieutenant commander on a United States Navy hospital ship. Dr. Nieckowski’s medical practice, which he opened in Greenfield, Massachusetts, in 1945, continued until his retirement in 1983. He died in Greenfield in 1985.
