About this item

Frances and Mary Allen of Deerfield, Massachusetts, took this photograph of members of the Childs and Stebbins families of Deerfield as they were singing or reciting from the booklets they hold.  The Allen sisters were known for taking artistic photographs of people posed in clothing from the past to recall what many believed were simpler times.
