About this item

Frances and Mary Allen of Deerfield, Massachusetts, fed turn-of-the-century Americans’ appetite for all things colonial with their photographs depicting colonial themes. This couple wears reproduction pseudo-18th century clothing. They were probably on their way to a party or to participate in one of Deerfield’s historical pageants when they posed around 1910, in a Deerfield  home.
