Orange, Massachusetts, was one of the three largest towns in Franklin County at the turn of the 20th century and the home of a number of industries including the New Home Sewing Machine Company (600 employees in 1900), the Rodney Hunt Machine Company (125 employees), the Jay B. Reynolds Company (250 employees), the Orange Furniture Company, and the National Keg and Box factory (100 employees).
