Goshen, Massachusetts, was incorporated in 1781, and is one of the hill towns of Western Massachusetts. The Whale Inn dates to the late 18th century and was named by Arthur Warner of Florence, Massachusetts, who said he had always heard that “The whale, he swam around the ocean and landed Jonah up in Goshen.”
