About this item

In 1943, Frank Dahowski, Jr. (1910-1988) of Montague, Massachusetts, was stationed in Wallingford, England, during World War II (1939-1945). Due to a life-threatening war injury, he was discharged from the service and was unable to work when he returned home. Frank and his wife Olga moved to Deerfield after the war, where they built a house on a lot on the Dahowski farm. They were members and supporters of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in South Deerfield. Frank was a volunteer fireman in Old Deerfield and enjoyed his hobby of restoring and selling antique cars. He and Olga are buried in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in South Deerfield, Massachusetts.
