About this item

While it is possible that this old buggy was left out in the fields to go to ruin, it is more likely that it was dragged out of a barn and the neighborhood children were encouraged to hop on board to have their picture taken. Frances and Mary Allen of Deerfield, Massachusetts, were well known for their art photography that reminded viewers of times past. They especially like to photograph rural children.
